BIOSCI 757

: Molecular Form, Function and Design
2022 Semester One (1223)
Biological systems highlight a complex interplay of thousands of molecules. Reviews fundamental studies focusing on molecular structure and function (structural biology), and designer molecules with applications in nanotechnology and biomedicine. Topics may include: enzyme evolution and engineering, protein design and assembly, rational drug and vaccine discovery, and protein structure and dynamics.
Subject: Biological Sciences
No pre-requisites or restrictions

BIOSCI 757

: Structural Biology
2021 Semester Two (1215)
Reviews recent studies of biological systems that highlight molecular structure, and its ability to explain cellular biology. Topics may include: protein folding and targeting in the cell, motor proteins, pathogen and immune system molecules, and the inference of protein structure and function from genomic data. A sound understanding of BIOSCI 350 or equivalent is assumed.
