Course Overview
The measurement, recording, and drawing of existing New Zealand architecture.
This course covers, at an introductory level, the on-site investigation, measurement, and recording of existing buildings. The course culminates in the production of a set of measured drawings of an existing building, including a site plan (including roof plan), floor plan/s, elevations, a section, and detail/s.
Students are required to investigate, record, and measure a comparatively small-scale building (or equivalent as agreed with the course supervisor) and produce a set of measured drawings of it. There are two submissions, the first being a set of photographs of the building and the second being the set of measured drawings. Assessment is summative.

Learning Outcomes
- Recognise and compose elevational, perspectival and detail photographs of buildings (Capability 4.1 and 5.1)
- Investigate, record, analyze, and document an existing comparatively small-scale building (or equivalent as agreed with course supervisor) (Capability 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2 and 5.1)
- Employ recognized conventions in the production of a set of measured drawings for the building (Capability 3.2, 4.1 and 4.2)

Workload Expectations
This course is a standard 10 point course and students are expected to spend 10 hours per week involved in each 15 point course that they are enrolled in.
For this course, you can expect 10 hours of tutorials, 10 hours of reading and thinking about the content, and 80 hours of work on assignments.
Delivery Mode
Campus Experience
Attendance is expected at scheduled activities including tutorials.
Learning activities including tutorials will not be available as recordings.
The course will not include live online events unless the campus is closed.
The activities for the course are scheduled as a block delivery.
Student Feedback
At the end of every semester students will be invited to give feedback on the course and teaching through a tool called SET or Qualtrics. The lecturers and course co-ordinators will consider all feedback and respond with summaries and actions.

Course materials are made available in a learning and collaboration tool called Canvas which also includes reading lists and lecture recordings (where available).

Academic Integrity
