Learning Outcomes
- Differentiate and explain normal and abnormal CT imaging appearances of the head, thorax, abdomen and pelvis. (Capability 1.1, 1.2, 3.1 and 3.2)
- Make informed clinical judgements with regard to the selection of imaging protocols and technical parameters in relation to the head, thorax, abdomen and pelvis. (Capability 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2)
- Assess current clinical protocols for specific pathologies of the head, thorax, abdomen and pelvis. (Capability 1.1, 1.2, 3.1 and 3.2)
- Critically evaluate a range of CT techniques to investigate specific regions and pathologies. (Capability 2.1, 2.2, 4.1 and 4.2)
- Apply an evidence-based approach to clinical decision-making and problem solving. (Capability 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2)

Workload Expectations
Following University workload guidelines, a standard 15-point course represents approximately 150 hours of study. This may be broken down as follows:
- Set readings relevant to CT theory and clinical practice (30 hours)
- Other resources provided on Canvas e.g. videos, websites (20 hours)
- Assignments and self-directed learning (100 hours)

Course materials are made available in a learning and collaboration tool called Canvas which also includes reading lists and lecture recordings (where available).
