Course Overview
This course is a 45-point course delivered across two semesters where the focus is on on developing pre-service teachers’ conceptual and procedural knowledge for the teaching profession; Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), General Pedagogic Knowledge (GPK), and Assessment Knowledge (AK). The course includes three assessments spread across the year.

Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate and examine the principles, concepts, content, and skills in national curriculum documents for application in teaching and learning. (Capability 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 6.2 and 6.3)

To pass this course students must submit all assessments and achieve at least 50% for the overall course.
Workload Expectations
For this 45 point course you can expect 82 hours of specialist lectures supported by 200 hours of reading and thinking about the content and working on assignments.
Delivery Mode
Campus Experience
Attendance is required at scheduled Lectures to complete components of the course.
The course will not include live online events.
The activities for the course are scheduled as a weekly timetable.
Learning Resources
Course materials are made available in a learning and collaboration tool called Canvas which also includes reading lists and lecture recordings (where available).
Please remember that the recording of any class on a personal device requires the permission of the instructor.
Student Feedback
At the end of every semester students will be invited to give feedback on the course and teaching through a tool called SET or Qualtrics. The lecturers and course co-ordinators will consider all feedback and respond with summaries and actions.

This course is regularly informed by student feedback and changes are made to ensure the content and assessments are responsive to student expectations while preparing pre-service teachers for the demands of the teaching profession.
Academic Integrity
