Course Prescription

To complete this course students must attain a level of competency in the English language as determined by the School of Medical Sciences. This course must be completed prior to enrolling in Part III of the Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) degree.

Help and Support

The course coordinator is responsible for the management of the online content, facilitating learning within a safe online learning environment, and guiding and assisting students to completion. Workload Expectations

All students at the University of Auckland are required to undertake DELNA (Diagnostic English Language Needs Assessment) Screening. This is a 30 minute assessment of English language abilities. For students completing the DELNA screening satisfactorily (achieving the minimum cut scores or above), no further action is required and the requirements of MEDIMAGE 199 have been met.

Students who do not achieve the minimum cut scores in the DELNA screening are required to undertake the 2-hour DELNA Diagnosis and subsequently engage in English language enrichment (ELE). Following the DELNA Diagnosis, students may be required to make an appointment with a DELNA Language Advisor who will recommend further study of English.

Digital Resources

Course materials are made available in a learning and collaboration tool called Canvas which also includes reading lists and lecture recordings (where available).

Please remember that the recording of any class on a personal device requires the permission of the instructor.

Academic Integrity

The University of Auckland will not tolerate cheating, or assisting others to cheat, and views cheating in coursework as a serious academic offence. The work that a student submits for grading must be the student's own work, reflecting their learning. Where work from other sources is used, it must be properly acknowledged and referenced. This requirement also applies to sources on the internet. A student's assessed work may be reviewed against online source material using computerised detection mechanisms.
